The wedding of Kristy & Matt is special to me in so many ways! Not only was it my first wedding at the stunning new(ish) venue of Birds Eye Cove, but it was one of those amazing weddings where my inspiration for the wedding & the couples personal style meshed together so perfectly, that wedding magic was created!! It was the small details in this wedding, that mattered the most. The mismatched vintage china serving platters, the record players for cocktail hour entertainment, the natural linen tablecloths, and the hand stamped escort cards, are just a few of my favourite details! I also had the rare opportunity of working alongside some of my favourite people in the industry, and still cannot get over how beautifully it all went together!! Thank you so much, Kristy & Matt, for having me be a party of your wedding! You guys are two of the most authentic people I have had the privilege of working with, and I will treasure your wedding for a long time!! Victoria Wedding Industry Meetup

In just over 2 weeks, the first ever, Victoria Wedding Industry Meetup will be taking place, and I couldn't be more excited!!! A lot of people have been asking me over the past few weeks, what exactly is the meetup? Well, my friends, the meetup is just that. A meetup!! And a chance for everyone who puts their heart & soul into making our clients weddings the best celebration ever, to celebrate & party ourselves!

After hearing of the successful Vancouver Wedding Meetup, my good friend, Jesse Holland & myself, decided it was time to bring the party over to the Island! With a team of insanely supportive sponsors behind us (Tuktu Paper Co., Verbena Floral Design, Airwaves Music, KGood Photo & Decorate Victoria), we are so excited to meet with everyone on October 17th, 7pm at the Union Club, and to share stories of the 2013 wedding season, enjoy some drinks, listen to great music, and just overall have a great night! Heather & Jim

For the first wedding of the season, not only did I have the absolute honour of working with the sweetest and most gracious couple ever, I ALSO got the chance to work alongside an "all-star" wedding team! Rook & Rose Floral Design Boutique always takes their design to the next level, and this wedding was no different! They brought Heather's garden-inspiration to life, through the gorgeous terra-cota plants, cafe-lighting & mini-rose favours. And don't even get me started on Heathers bouquet...it was stunning! And Ameris' images from the day are so jaw-droppingly beautiful, that I almost couldn't choose which ones to share! We have 4 more weddings together this season, and I can't wait to spend more time with them!! Working with Heather & Jim throughout the past few months was absolutely wonderful! It is always so nice when a couple has complete faith in their vendors, and is more than happy to pass over all artistic control. I loved creating the custom menu's & typewriter inspired stationary for them, and being there to make sure the day went seamlessly! Heather & Jim, thank you so much for asking me to be a part of your beautiful wedding day!

2012 in Review!

WOW!!! I cannot believe how incredible the last year has been, and I have all the amazing couples & vendors I had the honour to work with to thank for it!!! Looking back, I don't know how I was lucky enough to work with the sweetest, funniest, and most loving couples! To all the newleyweds that joined the FKE family in 2012, thank you from the bottom of my heart for inviting me into your life, and letting me be a part of your big day! I had such a wonderful time getting to know each and every one of you, and am so excited to see what lies ahead for you in married life! I am also incredibly thankful for all the opportunities given to me by the ridiculously talented wedding vendors I have come to know and love, and to all the blogs that have featured my work! From my very first wedding feature on Wedding Bells, my first stylized shoot feature on Whimsical Wonderland Weddings and Borrowed & Bleu, and finally with TWO features on Style Me Pretty (here and here), I have been blown away with all the support & talent in the wedding community! So...here are a few highlights of what has easily passed as the best year ever!!! Lets just say, 2013 has a LOT to live up to!

Happy Holidays!

This holiday season has had no shortage of awesomeness, and I am soooo looking forward to sharing ALL of it with you over the next few weeks! From an insanely festive holiday dinner, to a gorgeous New Years Eve treat for the eyes, it has been absolutely incredible, and I am so thankful to everyone who has helped me along the way!

Happy Holidays

Well, it is that time of year again! I absolutely love the holiday season, and this year has been no exception!! Between the holiday parties, baking sessions, and Christmas movie marathons, I feel that it is safe to say I am ready for Christmas.

A HUGE thank you to local wedding photographer extraordinaire, Jesse Holland, for taking the fantastic photo I have shared with you today!!!! After being hugely inspired by Pinterest, I was determined to send out a special holiday card, and I couldn't be happier with the result!

I hope everyone has an amazing Christmas, and a wonderful time with family & friends! I cannot wait to start sharing more wedding inspirations in the new year!

A first successful season!

Well...I am extremely proud to announce that I have successfully completed my first wedding season! After a rather busy end to August (with two weddings), and a week of some much needed R&R, I am ready to look back at my first year of business and celebrate what an amazing year it has been! First of all, I am thrilled to have had the chance to meet so many people in the industry and am really looking forward for the chance to meet many more! There are so many crazy talented professionals in Victoria, and I cannot wait to work with all of them! This city has so much to offer the wedding world, and it is no wonder to me why so many couples choose to get married here!

Over the summer, I had the wonderful opportunity to help the Gordon's, the Martyn's, and the Redford's create their perfect day. Congratulations to all the newlyweds and thank you again for letting me be a part of your wedding! I couldn't have had a better first season and I am thrilled to have gotten to do it with all of you.

After such a fantastic first year, I am so happy I made the decision to follow my dream and to start French Kiss Events. Planning weddings has been something I have always wanted to do, and I am cannot think of a better job! Here's to season 2, and all that lies ahead!
